Released on: January 5, 2008, 7:42 am
Press Release Author: Steve Jones/speedaholics.com
Industry: Automotive
Press Release Summary: A website which aims to debunk the lies and spin surrounding the contentious issues of speed has been launched.
Press Release Body: Called speedaholics.com it\'s not a site to promote reckless or dangerous driving.
Instead, it aims to highlight the misconceived notion that installing speed cameras reduces accidents.
A spokesman for the site said: \"We support responsible driving for the conditions you find yourself in.
\"We also support the placing of speed cameras on high streets and outside schools - places where they can make a real difference.
\"Instead, we are faced with this government putting speed cameras/cash machines where there hasn\'t been a history of road accidents or in places where unsuspecting drivers will be fined and get penalty points for straying a few miles above the speed limit.\"
Aimed at car and motorbike fans, the site also has a forum, regular news updates and a blogging section.
There are plans for the site to grow in the coming weeks and months with users able to upload photos and videos of things they find of interest for other site users.
Speedaholics also aims to become the voice of disenchanted motorists in Britain.
